Globalization is often portrayed in a good light in the media; it is the means of development and is interconnecting the world to allow the collaboration of diverse peoples. However there is a dark side to globalization, as its exploitation of other nations, its people and their land. In the name of advancement, the south has been further exploited by the enforcement of economic development models such as structural adjustment programs. The SAP’s only lead to further degradation, as they are implemented by corrupt government and corporate agenda’s. The Sap’s often result in privatization of all foreign goods leaving the most vulnerable; women and children; even further away from the efforts of third wave feminism in the attempt for global equality (Crow, 92-94).
